Enchant with image and sound, not with technology. That is exactly why we created our Experience Center. Here we join forces with those of our dealers and partners to show customers what is possible. When after the demo – and a short silence – a sincere ‘I want this too’ sounds from the sweet spot, we are not only happy but also quite a bit proud. After all, you couldn’t ask for a better compliment. So we translated the atmosphere and lines of our space, guided by our specific acoustic design, to the customer’s space with a sensational result!
When the light goes out and the film starts, everything has to be right
A custom Home Cinema is never copy-paste. Even if the desire is to make it exactly the same, the physical space dictates the layout of the design. Our approach to sensational is all-encompassing. This means that the technical design with the triangular relationship between seating, screen and speakers is the first and most important factor. When the light goes out and the film starts, everything has to be right. Every detail, every intonation of the dialogue and every aspect of the three-dimensional illusion. Only then does good turn into magical. That starts with the design of everything that the customer will not see.

Behind the 350cm wide acoustically transparent projection screen from Cinema Build Systems with 16:9 widescreen ratio lies a super massive baffle wall. Here the JBL Synthesis SLC-6 speakers that serve as Left, Right and Center speakers find their place in our custom backboxes. Height, horizontal positioning and angle are all optimized in relation to the seating position. We place custom acoustic elements around the LCR speakers, tailored to the low-frequency energy in the room. In this way we ensure an even distribution of the bass without excessive booming or after-effects. Of course we can also try to polish this with Digital Signal Processing, but a good start is half the battle.
In the bottom line of the Baffle Wall we place two JBL Synthesis SSW-2 subwoofers on special decoupling platforms. With its dual 12″ bass drivers, the SSW-2 is capable of delivering powerful deep lows while being fantastically subtle. Every subwoofer can produce heavy thumping and bubbling sounds. Defined low end with sonority and refinement separates the wheat from the chaff. Drama and palpable dimension enchant you in front of you, and a balanced bass reproduction with weight and speed is indispensable. That worked out fantastically here!
custom diffusion elements with oak veneer
To immerse both rows of seats in a realistic, three-dimensional bubble of sound, we worked with dual speakers on the side walls, defining the first as Wide channels and the second as Side Surround channels. Here too we choose the phenomenal JBL Synthesis SCL-6 compression driver horn speakers with HDI Waveguide. The dispersion of these models is truly fantastic. In this way we built a super smooth ribbon of sound from front to back through the room with a superior surround experience, wherever you sit.
Naar de achterkant van de ruimte werken we met onze maatwerk diffusie elementen opgebouwd met eiken fineer. Prachtig hoe deze kunstwerken niet alleen voor een ideale akoestische balans maar ook voor een schitterend visueel accent zorgen. Ze spelen niet alleen met het geluid maar ook met licht en creëren een spannend detail waarvan je zomaar zou vergeten wat hun eigenlijke functie is.

We place two JBL Synthesis Surround Back speakers on the back wall itself. Yes, the SCL-6 of course. These enclose the seating area and provide depth and location to the surround sound. The acoustic surfaces with speakers flow beautifully into the veneered walls that are tightly illuminated by the LED strips. We integrated the door seamlessly and with invisible hinges in the back wall, allowing the wall surfaces to flow beautifully into each other.

The LED line continues across the ceiling with a small bend for more depth in the lines. The acoustic ceiling hides four JBL Synthesis SCL-8 speakers that we use in a Dolby Atmos Layout. The SCL-8 is another bizarre speaker from JBL. Completely optimized for its function, the perfect and targeted radiation of sound from the ceiling to the seat at an angle of 45 degrees. Together they close the dome of sound around the listener and give a huge ‘I’m there’ feeling.

The JBL Synthesis Surround Receiver takes care of the processing, including our own Dirac Live calibration and the amplification of 7 of 15 speakers. The remaining surround channels are led by the JBL Synthesis SDA-7120 power amplifier, while the subwoofers are controlled by a JBL SA-4D power amplifier.
The projector looks at the screen through a special window above the door in the portal. This way it is always accessible, it can easily dissipate its heat and it is inaudible from the listening room, which means that silence really is silence.

When the black cinema door swings from the raised vestibule into the cinema, all visual lines draw attention to the impressive screen.
