CES in Las Vegas. It used to be packed with the most beautiful audio products. Now mainly a show for Gadgets and Tech enthusiasts. Yet Harman Luxury is present again this year and conjured up a whole series of fantastic new JBL products from the Harman hat in the Virgin Hotel. Although most will only reach our dealers around the summer, we don’t want to withhold our enthusiasm. Hereby therefore part 2 of this writeup with the announcement of a new set of active JBL speakers!
Part 2 – JBL 4329P Monitor: Active Streaming Audio Speakers
Actually, the title ‘Monitor series’ is a bit confusing. Because although JBL’s Monitors are inspired by the models that formed the crossover from studio to living room in the 1970s and afterwards, the Monitor series are actually really perfected for the home. Admittedly, the looks are not for everyone, but the sound certainly is. JBL introduced its first active speaker set with the JBL 4305P. A complete stereo music system including built-in streaming audio amplifiers. This summer, however, the active JBL 4305P will have an active, wide-shouldered colleague for whom we would like to prepare you now – the JBL 4329P.
De P in 4329
P stands for Powered in this case. Active and with built-in amplifier. But by only calling the 4305P and the 4329P active, we seriously shortchange them. They are speaker systems with built-in amplification and Hi-Res Streaming Audio technology for wired or wireless music streaming. Together with the analog and digital inputs, the 4329P, just like the smaller 4305P, form a complete hi-fi solution that basically only requires these speakers.
The 4329P opens the world to your favorite music via built-in Google Chromecast, Apple Airplay 2, Bluetooth 5.3 AptX® Adaptive Audio or as a ROON Ready endpoint. Digital music reaches the internal amplifier via the 4329P’s 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution DAC. You simply connect the 4329P to your network and you’re ready to go! You can also connect your television or other line-level sources directly to the 4329P.
Rock & Roll Baby!
With 300 Watt combined amplifier power, 16 kilos of muscle mass, a footprint of about 32x32cm and a height of 52cm per speaker, the 4329P is clearly bigger than the 05P variant. Behind the grill, the JW200P-4, 8-inch (200mm) Pure-pulp Black Paper Cone Woofers call the shots. Together with the 2409H, 1-inch (25mm) compression driver and HDI horn above it for the treble, the 4329P is without a doubt one of the most dynamic active streaming hi-fi systems on the market. In addition, the reproduction is always energetic and with a clear message, but never sharp and enjoyable from an enormous angle.
This way you can rock and roll with the JBL 4329P throughout the room without the restrictions of the dance floor. The beauty of it all? You don’t need more than this set of speakers, your favorite streaming service and possibly the matching JS80 stands!
The JBL 4329P has an expected retail price of around € 4.000 for the set and we expect to have it in stock this summer.
